Overview

The Accounting Department of McCormick Taylor is actively seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for fulltime employment in the headquarters office located in Philadelphia, PA. The candidate will assist the Director of Accounting and accounting team with all financial business process activities related to the preparation and analysis of revenue, expenses, trends and job budgeting and profitability. The ideal applicant will be someone who takes initiative, communicates effectively, and maintains the highest level of detail even under pressure and in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare, reconcile and verify accounting information to contribute to accuracy and timeliness of the company's financials
  2. Monitor and update weekly billing plan. Review and monitor unbilled balances to ensure timely billing of transactions. Be able to explain any unbilled balances
  3. Prepare various project reports for profitability, budgeting, and forecasting
  4. Prepare lender required reports to meet all loan covenants
  5. Assist in fee and expense analysis
  6. Participate in monthly financial reviews with Management
  7. Implement and effectively monitor financial and operational performance metrics for projects
  8. Support Management with ‘what if’ type of analysis using various assumptions and suggest measures to help improve results
  9. Review collections and aged receivables on a weekly basis, provide assistance in the collection of outstanding invoices as appropriate
  10. Aid Management with Financial Planning and Analysis; provide support in developing the business’s short term and long range strategic plans
  11. Provide support in collecting all selections for auditors for the mid-year compilation and annual audit.
  12. Participate with the preparation of month and year-end processes by reviewing actual vs. budget/forecast variances
  13. Developing various reports to review financial trends and project future growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7-10 years or more of Accounting related experience
  • Experience or interest in Architecture, Engineering or Construction industry
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Deltek Vision Accounting experience a strong plus
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time and complete projects on time with minimal supervision
