Overview

McCormick Taylor is seeking an Entry-Level Noise Specialist to join our growing organization.   We are seeking recent college graduates with GIS knowledge willing and/or interested in learning transportation noise modeling.  This position can report out of multiple McCormick Taylor offices – Harrisburg (PA), Raleigh (NC), or Glen Allen (VA)

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this role will include: data collection, noise monitoring, modeling, analysis, and report writing to assess and document noise impacts and potential noise mitigation measures associated with transportation improvement projects during the NEPA analysis process. 

 

The successful candidate will be capable of working effectively in both the office and field. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, self-starting team player who is organized and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of experience
  • B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field is required
  • Proficiency in Microstation, AutoCAD, and/or ArcGIS (ArcMap, 3D Analyst, and Spatial Analyst) is preferred
  • Knowledge of state and federal (FHWA) noise policies and procedures are a huge plus
  • Excellent communications skills and technical writing skills are a must
