    McCormick Taylor, Inc. is currently seeking a highly talented, motivated and experienced Transportation Planner/Engineer in our Baltimore, Maryland office with an emphasis in Roadway and Transit Planning. This position will require developing design solutions on a variety of roadway and transportation design projects. The ideal candidate is an individual with a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, is ambitious, has the ability to work well with a team and is willing to take the lead on a variety of project assignments. A BS in civil engineering or transportation planning or related field is required. A master's degree is preferred, as is PE and/or AICP

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the preparation of transportation planning documents, such as: alternatives analyses, feasibility studies, long range plans, and reports that comply with NEPA/MEPA.
    • Management of transportation planning projects, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, allocation of resources, client presentations, and quality control.
    • Application of technical skills, including development of technical approach to project tasks, technical guidance of project team members, preparation and editing of reports and analyses.
    • Business development activities, including marketing transportation services, proposal preparation, and interviews.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of progressive experience in transportation planning, especially multi-modal corridor planning practices
    • Exceptional writing, communication and verbal skills
    • Ability to work in a collaborative team setting
    • Knowledge and experience working with NEPA documents for transportation projects, preferably within the mid-Atlantic Region ranging from CE's to EI's.
    • Experience with multi-disciplinary projects that include project management, public outreach, planning, conceptual engineering, and environmental aspects.
    • Work effectively with clients, including Federal, State and local agencies.        
    • Project schedule and budget accountability, client interaction, coordination with other internal offices and staff development.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, working knowledge of CAD, Microstation, InRoads / GEOPAK, GIS and Microsoft Access.
      Must possess a valid Maryland driver's license to travel to various site locations and meetings
