  • Overview

    We are looking for a talented CMCI Manager (Construction Management & Construction Services) to to grow, as well as strengthen, our CMCI practice in Maryland and neighboring markets.  The ideal candidate will be confortable interacting and engaging our existing clients, as well as developing relationships with new ones.  The position will also manage and supervise our current construction management workload, as well our Inspectors.

    Responsibilities

    • Providing services for and managing staff to carry out construction management/inspection (CMCI) services on transportation related contracts
    • Recruiting, retaining, training, developing, and conducting performance reviews for CMCI staff
    • Preparing new MDOT SHA OOC resume packages, reclassifications as needed, track overtime for our company and all sub inspectors, and track inspector trainings, certifications, stipends, and candidate/interview information.
    • Confirming all safety requirements are followed by CMCI staff
    • Managing and delivering construction management contracts in our geographic market areas
    • Managing positive client expectations and experiences
    • Foster relationships with our CMCI staff and keep them informed of company initiatives, goals, and meet with them at least twice a year one-on-one
    • Preparing expression of interests, technical and price proposals
    • Acquiring necessary certification as required by Clients
    • Assisting design disciplines with constructability questions/issues
    • Marketing/business development of professional level CMCI services across our geographic markets
    • Develop a business plan and work with the marketing group to grow CMCI services companywide
    • Cultivating and building relationships with our competitors to form teaming arrangements that comply with company goals and initiatives to develop the best team for future CMCI contracts.
    • Meeting with potential new clients across our geographic markets and make sure the company is properly prequalified and certified to perform CMCI related services where those markets require pre-qualifications.
    • Attending regularly scheduled marketing meetings to report on CMCI issues and opportunities
    • Being active in construction related organization (ACI, DBIA, CMAA, ACEC, etc.)
    • Supporting the growth of the companies Design Build and P3 services as it relates to construction management
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • BS in Engineering preferred; Equivalent experience will be considered
    • 10+ years in Construction Management
    • Previous experience with MTA, SHA strongly preferred
    • Experience with other transportation agencies such as PennDOT, DelDOT, etc. a plus
    • Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
    • Strong communication, written and verbal skills
