  • Overview


    McCormick Taylor's Baltimore, MD office is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Water Resources Project Manager with a PE and Civil/Water Resources Engineering background and 8-15+ years' experience who desires increasing responsibilities in designing and managing a variety of projects.  The Water Resources Group projects range from drainage improvements and flood studies to storm drain design, stormwater retrofits, MS4 support, and stream restoration.  This position provides the opportunity for leadership development, mentoring of younger technical staff, client management, and design of stormwater management systems for transportation and public works clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic.



    Technical Responsibilities:

    • Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling using software including WinTR-55/TR-20, HEC-RAS (1D+2D), HEC-1 TUFLOW2D, XPSWMM and Inroads Storm and Sanitary
    • Collection and analysis of field data, as-built plans and engineering reports to establish existing conditions and identify critical areas for design criteria
    • Design of stormwater management systems for water quality and quantity control
    • Preparation of drainage, soil erosion and sediment control, utility relocation, right-of-way, staging and construction plans, specifications and engineering estimates for water resources and transportation projects
    • Working knowledge of Federal, State and local jurisdiction design standards and permitting regulations
    • Dam inspection and hazard classification analysis.
    • Occasional construction oversight of water resources improvement projects


    Management Responsibilities:

    • Technical mentoring, management and development of junior design and engineering staff
    • Client management, marketing and public presentation of project information
    • Development of cost and technical proposals for existing and new clients.


    • The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of Hydrologic and Hydraulic principles and practices
    • The candidate must have strong interpersonal and communications skills, and expertise with writing and report preparation
    • Experience with managing projects and small teams of design staff is preferred
    • Familiarity with Maryland projects preferred; additional states in Mid-Atlantic a plus

    Certification Required:

    • The successful candidate must be a MD Registered Professional Engineer
