McCormick Taylor is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our Philadelphia, PA office. The primary duties of the Bridge Engineer are to perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations for various transportation structures in accordance with PennDOT and AASHTO. Experience should include a minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience for transportation projects.  Must be proficient in CAD and have hands-on experience in structural analysis/design software. Mid-senior level candidates may also have previous mentorship, marketing or managerial experience.


  • Prepare field evaluation and perform load rating analysis of highway bridges.
  • Perform design calculations and select engineering procedures to design and analyze structures.
  • Prepare engineering quantities and generate project cost estimates.
  • Develop structural drawings, construction details and geometry layouts.


  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with course emphasis in Structural Engineering subject from ABET accredited university
  • 5-8+ years of structural engineering experience for transportation projects.
  • Working knowledge of PennDOT specifications is strongly preferred; Diverse client experience in additional McCormick Taylor markets also beneficial (DelDOT, NJDOT, etc.)
  • Proficient in CAD (Microstation experience a plus) and structural analysis/design software.
  • PE strongly preferred
