Overview

We are looking for a Senior Network Administrator who can maintain the current environment of our computer network, plan the future growth, upgrade, expansion and transition from on premises to a virtualized environment in the cloud.  You will be analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, stabilizing, optimizing, and maintaining McCormick Taylor’s internal network infrastructure and related technologies and equipment. You will monitor server and network status, network connectivity, switch operation, firewalls, and router configurations. You will also provide direction, expertise and recommendations on equipment, configurations and installations.  The Senior Network Administrator will also be responsible for keeping our IT support staff updated on the latest tools and processes through thorough documentation. The ideal candidate for this position is certified to work with Fortinet and HP Enterprise networking equipment and is well-versed in Windows-based solutions. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience at the enterprise networking level, implementing virtualized cloud initiatives and current cyber security measures.

 

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology - responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Design and implementation of network hardware, services and procedures as well as software companywide
  • Provide Daily IT support to all IT staff in areas of servers, wireless, network, data backup, data recovery and other high-level operations
  • Administer and maintain health, efficiency, integrity and operation of company wired and wireless network
  • Provide timely and efficient hardware and software upgrades to company servers, devices and network
    • Ensure security holes or flaws are addresses expeditiously to minimize exposure
  • Ensure successful compliance with data backup procedures and backup completion at all sites
  • Research, present and implement new IT technologies and solutions
  • Installation, configuration and management of Fortinet firewalls through FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager tools
  • Create, update and maintain accurate documentation of all network equipment and cabling layouts (All offices)
  • Monitor all NAS storage devices (Synology) to ensure maximum performance and space requirements are met

Qualifications

  • 15 years’ experience in network troubleshooting and design
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint would be beneficial
  • Travel required to various offices for network projects
  • Excellent written, verbal and strong presentation skills; ability to effectively communicate across all levels is required.
